Adopt-a-family program
Each year Family Business expresses our gratitude to service members through our holiday "Adopt-A-Family" program, where we provide clothing, toys, essential items, and financial support to military families in need. This year we have chosen FOUR military families to be the beneficiaries of our program! Please read below to learn more about each family and how we plan on making a difference in their lives this year.

Family 1
Last winter, Family Business supported an active Army National Guard service member and his family. This family of four had been displaced from their home for over five months after experiencing an electrical house fire. They lost most of their belongings in the fire, and their main focus was on gutting and repairing their home. Our team provided this family with all the household essentials they needed as they prepared to rebuild their lives. Although the holidays were tough with this service member deployed in Kosovo, Europe, our goal was to bring joy to his wife and two daughters' lives when they saw new gifts under the tree.
Family 2
We partnered with Inspire Recovery to support another active-duty National Guard service member who is currently deployed across seas. While deployed, the family has welcomed help in caring for their son, who has been diagnosed with autism. However, with their caregiver no longer able to work for the family, the father has had to leave his job to care for his son full time. The family struggles to make ends meet with one income. We are so grateful to have been able to support this family during such a difficult time and provide them with household essentials and gifts to make their holiday special.
Family 3
Our team supported a current National Guard member who has experienced a significant loss of income this year. This service member had recently returned to work after having a baby boy and two weeks later experienced a work injury causing her to be out of work for longer than expected. This mother had been doing her best to support her husband, who recently lost his job due to Covid, and their three children, including two sons and a daughter. With this family falling behind on bills, our team alleviated the financial strain of the holidays and provided gifts and necessities for the whole family.
Family 4
Our team partnered with Wesley Krombel, who helped raise funds to support a current National Guard Specialist and her young daughter. This single mother had faced several physical and mental health challenges. From having COVID during her pregnancy to battling postpartum depression afterward, she experienced a significant loss of income while caring for her daughter and seeking help for herself. We were able to provide a memorable holiday for this mother and her daughter.

How it started
The founders of Family Business began the Adopt-A-Family program 5 years ago with the goal of assisting families in need during the holidays. With the help of our supporters, our program has grown each year, allowing us to assist more families and increase our impact. The funds collected are used to buy each family essential household items such as cleaning supplies and cookware, as well as toys and clothes for the children. We hope that you will join us in this tradition of giving back to those in need.
